Well I'm not sure if I need much introducing, but if there are newbies on here who aren't on the Official Forum as I call it, well here we go.
I am PineappleGruntSoap on the IF, but for some reason I have stuck to all lower case on this forum, I think I may also be on the NA forum in lower case but I haven't been on that for ages and I have upgraded my PC in the last few months so have lost a lot of the bookmarks I had anyway. Slowly but surely building up my list of bookmarks on my Apple Mac, some of which were on the old machine, some of which are brand sparkly new.
My real name is Emma and I have just celebrated my 34th birthday. I live in the North of Scotland in a three storey house with my Mum and Dad, plus some times my younger sister comes to visit too - thankfully we have lots of room in this house for when she does arrive, boyfriend in tow or not. At the moment I am only doing voluntary work one day a week in the administration department of my local blind and visually impaired society, which I have been doing for a number of years whilst trying to seek employment which is not much fun I can assure you of, hence why it isn't really my number one topic of conversation on the forum. I mainly do the shredding for them but sometimes I get to put dividers into folders or inkstamp envelopes then label them for when they are doing mailshots/newsletters, sometimes I even get to put the mailshots/newsletters IN the envelopes depending on what day I'm in and when the items need to be posted by. It is a very small team in the office as it IS a charity but I get on fine with the staff who ARE there.
Obviously you will probably know that I blether on a bit too much about my dodgy eyesight, which I have probably bored people rigid about over the years. I think now I am in my thirties I have finally come to some sort of terms with it, although there are still times in my life when it does get me down.
However three years ago I joined a new group for people of working age that is between 17 and 65 years, so that we could go to lincensed places without a problem, with visual impairments and that has helped me an awful lot along the way. It hasn't been perfect and hasn't been the answer to all my problems like I thought it would be initally, but it is good to be amongst people with similar issues once a month and catch up with what they have been doing.
I have also joined the Rangers Rex Blind Party in August 2009. This means I can go to my beloved Ibrox and sit and mingle in the visually impaired section without worrying about how to see the match, as unofficial commentary is provide by lovely volunteers via a headset that you plug headphones in, which means you get to hear what is happening whilst also being in the crowd and sampling the atmosphere, although sometimes the language is such it certainly wouldn't be suitable here!!!
Although I haven't really met any of the other members of this group, mainly due to the distance I have to travel to go back and fore to it which means we don't have time to mingle with the other folk beforehand and tbh I don't think they really socialise much anyway, this blind party has given me a lot of pleasure as I thought it was something that was absolutely impossible for me to go to the football as I'm not good at seing from a great height which would be the case if I was an ordinary paying fan.
So I think you can guess then that football is one of my great loves.
I am also a great fan of music as I listen to it most days, whether it be a sttion on my radio sitting beside my bedside cabinet, or via any rdio station on my Freeview box, or on a CD that I have bought back from my trips into town. I used to be heavily into bouncy happy hardcore back in the day but now I prefer to listen to indie music as my tastes have changed over the years. I will no doubt be buying the Kashabian album when it is released shortly, that is the kind of band I enjoy these days.
I also listen to Clyde 1 over the internet to get the Rangers gossip, as it is a Central Belt based ratio station with more information on my favourite team as compared to the local radio station in my neck of the wood.
Hmmmmmmmmmm is there much more to say tht hasn't been mentioned above. Oh I think that will probably do for now, any more questions always feel free to PM or email me.

Hello I joined this forum years ago when the Lush forum changed but never got round to using it. I used to be a huge Lush fan, then they discontinued all my favourite things, like Icon Can't remember my user name from the old Lush forum and I don't use the new one. I am most likely to be found on BPAL.org at the moment. I'm here because I'm looking for more UK based goodies and maybe rekindle my Lush addiction.

Hello. My name is Rachel. I was introduced to this forum by Fogg. I don't have a lot of time for posting because I am a full time student. I am studying Criminal Justice with the hope of eventually graduating with a Ph.D. in Forensic Science. I like to travel and in the past year have taken three extended road trips and a two week train tour through Wales, Scotland and England. I live in the US. I am married. Life is good.

Hi there. I'm Cariad (also Cariad on original L forum). Just thought I would pop in here and see what's what. I'm recently retired from teaching but keep my hand in by marking GCSE exam papers, a keen gardener - though not always successful and aspiring patchwork quilt-maker.

I'm just a beginner too, and very lazy as I only make quilts from big square blocks, no fancy cutting . For me, it's the choice of fabric & thread that makes the quilt beautiful - I know I wouldn't be much use at complicated shapes so I stick to what I'm happy with . I've only made 3 quilts and am working (slowly) on 2 more atm.
